I’ve really been enjoying decorating with my plants lately. I had to bring my small plants inside during the hurricane, and it inspired me to do a little rearranging. It’s a cheap and easy way to freshen up your space and bring life and color to a room.
We’re looking forward to the next few months. Halloween is almost here, and then right after that, our annual county fair will be in town. We’ve had a slight change in the weather and it’s feeling a little like fall around here, which is nice. We’ve also got Renninger’s Extravaganza coming up in a couple weeks, and it has been about 8 months since the last one, so we’re ready. I’m hoping to be able to find some fun new things for my shop for the holidays. I hope everyone is having a great October, and happy Friday!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic day! My sweetie bought these roses for me, and also found something else this week…
He found a (possible) original Knoll tulip table! My old Burke table was a bit too big for this space, and we love the marble top on this which has a subtle pattern. It needs a little TLC, but it’s worth it. Kelly is still working on our Shelby Williams Gazelle chairs to go with it, so I’ll post photos when they’re ready. The tulip chairs he found a few months ago just didn’t work for us. We prefer something more lightweight and easy to move around, so they’ll be going up for sale soon, as well as the Burke base. We’re keeping the top since it’s bigger and it will come in handy for when we have company.
I’m looking forward to the weekend so we can really celebrate Valentine’s Day. A very old and dear friend is coming to visit tomorrow morning, so I’m excited about that. Then Kelly and I are going to Renninger’s Extravaganza on Saturday. This will be the last Extravaganza until November, so we’re hoping to have better luck than the January event. Either way, it’s always fun! If we have the energy on Saturday, we’ll probably go out to eat at our favorite restaurant, The Garlic. I think I’ll turn in early tonight so I can get plenty of rest! I hope everyone has a great weekend & a Happy Valentine’s Day! xoxo
Just a quick “Around the house” post… 1. Some of my favorite books that inspire me. 2. My vintage Yamaha stereo & Sony turntable (both thrifted) + another shot of my records. 3. My new ceramic Äsker wall pocket from Ikea.
I’ve been busy working on some shop updates and getting the house organized. As you all know, it’s a never-ending process. To add to our work, we just bought the lot next to us so we could have a spot for Kelly’s future skate pool. It’s really gorgeous with lots of old palms and oak trees. We had some dead trees taken down yesterday, and we’ll have a privacy fence up soon. Once it shapes up a bit, I’ll post some photos.
I’m hoping to take an out of town thrift trip on Thursday, so I’ll share my finds after I get back. Hope everyone has a great week!
I’m trying to get back to a normal routine, and capturing beauty in everyday objects is one of the things I love to do. Here are some recent images from our new home + one older one from my old beach apartment. The tiny white cup on my desk with the air plant in it is actually my first piece of Poole pottery. I’ve always wanted anything from Poole, and I fell in love with this one as soon as I saw it. I love the Bitossi pieces, and used to find them while thrifting. I’m way overdue for a good thrift hunt, so that’s on my list of things to do in the near future.
I’ve been missing in action lately due to school and work, but I’ll get a much needed break after this week. I’ve got two days left of school this semester and then I’ll have about three weeks off, so I’m very excited and looking forward to dedicating more time to my Etsy shop. Things have been more active lately with it, so I’d like to keep it up. In just the past few weeks, I’ve been included in about five front page treasuries! Here are a few…
I’m dying to just spend the day listing things for my shop. I want it to be full of fun stuff for my visitors!
