Last year we decided to finally get that George Nelson pendant lamp we’ve always wanted. We went with the small saucer version of the bubble lamps, and we couldn’t be happier. I know it’s a very popular mid-century lamp, but when something’s good, it’s good. Anyway, we were very excited to finally receive it. We had been living with an off-center drum shade, which drove me crazy. This one is perfect, and we are done with the dining room lighting. Now, onto the next project!
We had a really great day at the flea market.. The weather was absolutely perfect, we had a great lunch, and found a couple of things for the house. We’re basically replacing (upgrading) a couple of things in exchange, so we were able to justify the purchases. We didn’t see many mcm items, but as usual we enjoyed it anyway and didn’t walk away empty-handed. It has been a really nice 3-day weekend, but today I’ll have a full day of taking photos and listing items. I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
Kelly officially opened his ebay store yesterday, KL Vintage Modern. He has been listing his items up for auction for years now under the user name Retro-Fiend, but this year he has an official business. Here’s the latest piece he has been working on!
► Latest & greatest thrifty find, an original Arne Jacobsen Series 7 chair (Kelly found two!) ► Our front door ► Cadell in the Plycraft chair ► Afternoon shadows ► One of my favorite lamps, hand blown glass + teak ► Nightstand at night
Things are moving right along here, and Kelly is putting a big batch of chairs together to sell. I’ll be posting about that as soon as he has them ready. We still need more materials for the kitchen, so I’m waiting patiently for that to begin. This is what happens in the DIY world…
I hope everyone is having a great week! I’ll be back tomorrow with Friday Favorites!
